The Servant Leader
My district manager gave me this book during a conversation about a recent transition. I was asked to move from one location to another and wanted to share some thoughts and get some feedback from him prior to the move.
During the course of our discussion he pulled this book out of his bag and asked if I had ever read it. "the concept is very familiar to me but I have not read that book," I said as looked it over. I motioned toward my phone to quickly search for it on Amazon and before I could key in my pass code he said "You can have that copy. I have another, but I keep one in my bag." He went on to say "the only thing I ask is that, when you're finished with it, you will pass it on to someone else."
Two Things
1. I have found more value in the introduction and the first page of Part one than I have found in entire books on my shelf!
2. I write in books. (Gasp!) I know what some of you are saying; "How could you?" Well, I think better with a pen in my hand. So, I will not be passing this copy along to anyone. Instead, I will buy copies to give away. It is that good! (And they can write in their own book. Or not!)

Volume 2 must, of necessity, follow volume 1!
So, I had been meaning to read the fantastic stories of the world's most famous detective for a while. The opportunity presented itself the end of last year and I have thoroughly enjoyed every thrilling tale!
I enjoyed the very popular "Sherlock" on the BBC and have watched a few episodes of "Elementary" as well, but the books themselves offer an equally enjoyable experience and set the stage for all the reiterations which have come since.

Start With Why
I purchased Start with Why about a three months ago after seeing a TED Talk by Simon Sinek.
I began reading it recently and I am again inspired by the challenging premise to Start with "WHY."
Fatherless Generation: Redeeming The Story
This book begins with a bleak but realistic picture of the state of a fatherless generation. He shares story after story of individuals whose lives were altered forever because of the lack of a father.
He then begins to share how we can redeem the story of a generation by living as mentors and engaging in community with the fatherless.
This book challenged me as a new father to raise my daughter to be a lady of definitive substance.
The Space Trilogy
Here are a set of books I've been meaning to read for some time. When I finally picked up a copy, I couldn't put them down. Lewis's style and imaginative narrative is captivating. He pulls readers in with his story of Elwin Ransom, a philologist who is abducted in a rather strange way in Out of the Silent Planet, and keeps us guessing and thinking throughout the entire trilogy. These books have been called "Narnia for adults," an appropriate description of three great books.
